Guests present: Adam Jameson.

Meeting was called to order by Mr. Veihdeffer at 1957 hours in the Club car
on the AV Fairgrounds.

Mr. Beasley moved and Mr. Jones seconded that the reading of the minutes from
the last regular meeting be waived and that they be approved as written. The
motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Frozina reported that 2 letters were received since the last regular
meeting. They were from the AV Bank (statement), and Mouser Electronics

Track: Mr. Beasley mentioned that he picked up additional turnouts at Longs.
Mr. Veihdeffer suggested that we should purchase some items from Palmdale
Hobbies to support them.

Electrical: Mr. Beasley reported that Mr. Crawford continues to make good

Mr. Veihdeffer opened the nominations for 1998 officers. The following
"lucky" persons were nominated for the following offices:

President:	Joe Beasley, Tom Crawford and Howdy Veihdeffer

Vice President:	Joe Beasley, Ed Jones and Howdy Veihdeffer

Secretary:	Don Frozina

Treasurer:	Tom Crawford

Publicist:	Joel Beckmann, Hank Morris and Howdy Veihdeffer

Superintendent:	Joe Beasley, Don Jameson and Ray Wetzel

Mr. Beasley moved and Mr. Jones seconded that the nominations be closed. The
motion passed unanimously.

Train Control: Mr. Beasley reported that the decoders were waiting at the
Post Office. They are the Lenz LE-103 decoders, at $19.95/each
assembled. The club purchased 30 of these decoders.

Mr. Beasley also reported that Tony's Train Exchange is willing to send a
Digitrax "Chief" DCC system for evaluation. This system has 9 throttles and
5 (North Coast) booster units with transformers. One of the throttles is
stationary -- fixed to the master controller. The total cost of this system
is about $100.00 LESS than the EasyDCC system proposed previously.

Heater: No update.

Business Card Flats Cars: Mr. Veihdeffer and Mr. Jones proposed that we
purchase a number of flat cars so that we can run a business card train at
the next Fair. They suggested an advertizing rate of $10.00 per car.
The car would be run the whole Fair. Proceeds from this rate would
recoup the cost of the cars and allow us to have a drawing at the end of
the Fair for the members that worked the Fair. The members had a
positive reaction to this proposal.

Day Care Display: Mr. Veihdeffer mentioned that he was contacted by Joan
Williamson who runs/works at a Day Care facility in the Antelope Valley.
They were wondering if we could come by the week of 29 December and setup
a display of model trains. No action was taken on this matter.

Holiday Party: Mr Veihdeffer mentioned that the Club will hold a joint
holiday party with the A.V. N'Scalers at 5:30 pm on Saturday, 6 December
1997 at Zuma's Restaurant on Sierra Highway in Rosamond. The members
salivated over the possibilities.

Our next meeting will include the election of the 1998 officers.

The next regular business meeting will be on Friday, December 5, 1997 at
2000 hours in the Club car.

There being no further business or discussion, Mr. Beasley moved and
Mr. R. Wetzel seconded that we adjourn the meeting. The motion passed
unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 2040 hours.
